New Zealand families throw away $1,300 worth of food every year.
To change that we partnered with Five & Dime for Every Bite, food waste prevention initiative funded by the Ministry for the Environment and delivered by Zero Waste Aotearoa, in partnership with community hubs around the country. Together, we launched Food Appreciation Month—the country's first nationwide campaign mobilising Kiwis to reduce waste, save money, and appreciate their kai.
Collectively, we developed a comprehensive communications strategy, positioning the campaign around practical money-saving solutions and wider environmental impact, then coordinated stakeholders including the nation-wide hubs.
The campaign securing extensive coverage across paid and earned media, including mainstream features and influencer partnerships.
This multi-channel approach helped drove meaningful behaviour change, and we are now prepping for our next Food Appreciation Month.
